Dyno Tuning

Bergdale Harley-Davidson is a full performance shop equipped with Dyno tuning facilities. What is a Dyno you ask? The Dyno is used for two basic purposes:

* Performing Diagnostic Work
* Horsepower Performance Assessment

The Dyno consists of a carriage that holds the motorcycle chassis, a drum of a given weight which we accelerate using the rear tire, an electric motor that is used as a brake, and a computer that controls all of the Dyno functions.

We use the Dyno to diagnose interference problems and damaged motor mounts on rubber-mounted models.

The Dyno can also be used to measure incremental improvements in horsepower and torque. Ignition tuning can be accomplished by making a run on the Dyno, changing the ignition timing and then making another run to determine the affect on horsepower and torque.

Our Dyno is outfitted with an oxygen sensor that can tell how correctly the carburetor jetting or fuel injection mapping is, and allow us to make corrections. Customers going on a long trip should consider checking their bikes on the Dyno at the same time as their pre-trip service to make sure that everything is OK before you go. We offer Dyno check ups all year long.

Also, if you've made any component changes to your bike, you may want get a Dyno tuning to see the difference in power.

When you put your bike through a Dyno run, you'll be impressed by the process and by the added horsepower that results. You could feel like you are driving a different bike than you brought in!
